MATTHEW STEVENS

Matthew’s fascination grew from spending time with his cousin during the early 80’s visiting antique shops in Norfolk and Lincolnshire looking for stand out Objets d’art. He soon focused more on furniture, specifically the restoration of furniture.

Leaving home at the tender age of 16 to pursue his chosen career Matthew enrolled on a BTEC National Diploma in Conservation and Restoration, gaining a good grounding in the theory associated with his chosen subject. He then completed a BA Honours in Furniture Restoration and Conservation at Buckinghamshire University.

After completing university Matthew started his career working for a box restorer in Northants, following this he worked for various other restoration companies in and around London before eventually setting up his own business in West London.

He now runs a successful furniture restoration business catering for private individuals, antique dealers, museums, hotels and trade alike, working with fellow craftsman to cater to an ever evolving market.

His passion has not waned and he has built up an impressive portfolio of clients including museums and renowned institutions.
